Position Summary
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating shipments internally and externally, corresponding with customers, and tracking shipments. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented, and capable of multi-tasking
Position Responsibilities
• Deliver superior customer service, with a focus on accuracy and timely responses.
• Create orders and coordinate releases & shipments with internal shipping departments as well as external, 3rd party warehouse locations.
• Coordinate shipments to correspond to customer contracts (quantity and time frame).
• Maintain an understanding of customer specifications and requirements.
• Develop an understanding of governmental requirements regarding the inspection and testing of peanuts and be able to use this knowledge in matching documentation to available inventory for customer orders.
• Understand and maintain a working knowledge of the domestic and export transportation modes and processes. Ensure that proper documentation is available and provided for each shipment.
• Process shipment documentation accurately and efficiently to allow for timely invoicing.
• Track shipment and provide updates to multiple stakeholders as needed.
• Coordinate inventory movement and warehouse space utilization as cost-efficient as possible.
• Handle and coordinate customer claims, returns, etc.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with all key stakeholders in the supply chain (plant shelling operations, quality & food safety, customer logistics coordinators, internal warehousing and shipping, 3rd party warehouses, etc.).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
