• Conduct daily safety huddles with members of the Production team.
• Maintain the department attendance and performance records, including all disciplinary actions required as a result of cultivating an environment of outstanding attendance, performance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), etc.
• Drive root-cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and work to document solutions for future training.
• Support continual improvement Systems (SQF, AIB, Organic, Kosher, Customer audits) and assist with applications and procedures related to company ERP systems.
• Coordinate development of processes and procedures that maintain inventory integrity and on-time customer deliveries and product movement.
• Coordinate with Plant Management on the application of existing procedures, OEE tracking and development of ongoing systems and procedures within production; warehouse, packaging, and shipping departments.
• Support teams to include job specific training and documentation.
• Delegate work and responsibility to Leads and subordinates.
• Create network connections and work with others within and outside the company.
• Work with Plant Leadership to analyze stock inventories and check archives, maintain warehouse capacity and bin master.
• Oversee timely packaging, shipment, procurement of all stock and material. Report to Management any discrepancies.
• Initiate purchase requisitions required for all production areas to maintain adequate inventories of all packaging and shipping supplies as well as administrative supplies of the warehouse department.
• Schedule shifts and evaluate the work of all Production staff and subordinates as per yearly budget. Report variances to Management for follow up.
• Ensure that all stocks comply with the quality standards of the organization. Ensure blocking of all non-conforming stock with Quality Department and well as maintain traceability of all manufactured products.
• Work in conjunction with the Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, functions to maintain overall KPI goals (OEE goals, RFT tracking, etc.) for inventory accuracy, efficiency, and quality goals.
• Ensure timely address of all Production department Corrective Action Requests as delegated by the company Food Safety Committee/Quality Departments. Work with Human Resources and department management as needed.
• Assist in assuring GMP are adequate for protection of our products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Four (4) years Production, Operations, or Inventory Management experience is required. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree require only two (2) years of previous production, logistics or inventory management experience.
• Should possess a high level of competency with manufacturing/inventory systems with advanced skills in PC use including spreadsheets and database experience.
• Ability to work with a positive attitude in a high stress environment is required.
• Experience in a manufacturing and/or Food Safety environment is preferred.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills are required.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, is required.
• Ability to communicate with all levels across the organization will be required.

Position Summary  
 
Reporting to Sr. Technical Manager, the QA Compliance Specialist will support Quality, Food Safety and Technical compliance through cross functional interaction internally and through direct contact and problem solving with Vendors and Procurement. This role will utilize portals, search internal systems and interface with suppliers to ensure quality, traceability and food safety are controlled throughout supplier and vendor operations. 
 
The ideal candidate will have a strong food safety mindset, be familiar with regulatory compliance at the vendor level and its impact on customer quality, highly organized, with advanced capabilities in information systems.  
 
Position Responsibilities 
 
•    Understand and oversee supplier connections with follow-up within the ofi portals.
•    Request and update supplier documents and connections if/when a supplier fails to provide requested information
•    Review supplier documentation for compliance to ofi - Olde Thompson food safety and quality expectations.
•    Complete annual supplier verification checklists, confirming expectations have been met and the appropriate Procurement representative is notified with results.
•    Review overall performance of each supplier (i.e. delivery time, number of complaints, certification status) and assign a scorecard for each. Maintain statistics for each supplier and report the high and low performers to Senior Management.
•    Update the Raw Material Hazard Analysis to include hazards identified by each supplier within their food safety program. Update COA requirements according to the level of risk
•    Track Supplier Corrective Action reports if/when a supplier is charged with a non-conformance.
•    Transfer documents into supplier specific files as needed if/when a supplier is unable or unwilling to use the portal.
•    Interface with Technical Services laboratory team to review supplier matches and approval samples.
•    Complete supplier comparison documents as needed. Provide review findings to management and request missing information from suppliers
•    Oversee Foreign Supplier Verification system and ensure supplier criteria remain up to date with FDA requirements within the Olde Thompson food safety system
•    Review new ofi ingredient specifications for compliance against supplier information
•    Develop and submit weekly reports to Olde Thompson management
•    Perform other duties as assigned.
 
 
Position Requirements  
 
•    BS in Food Science, or other related science preferred.
•    Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a Food Safety related position. Supplier verification experience preferred.
•    Bilingual (Spanish)preferred but not required
•    Formal PCQI training with a strong knowledge of Food Safety Modernization Act requirements for food safety preventive controls preferred
•    Strong problem solving and investigation/research skills.
•    Detail oriented.
•    Good communication skills and ability to work well with other departments and with vendors and customers.
•    Able to multitask and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•    Highly organized and able to manage time efficiently.
    
The pay for this role in the state of CA ranges from $69,000 - $92,000 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
