black;">Position Summary:</span></b></div><div><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;color: black;">Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Quality & Food Safety Manager will plan, coordinate, and direct quality control programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with the established standards.<span>  </span>The Quality & Food Safety Manager, personally or through subordinates, will manage the Quality department and all associated activities as well as helps to supervise and coordinate Sanitation activities when applicable.<span> black;">Position Responsibilities:</span></b></div><ul style="margin-top: 0.0in;"><li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Assist in the overall development and implementation of standardized and harmonized Food Safety Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance with applicable ofi and regulatory (Federal, State, Local), and Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI) requirements. </span></li><li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Create and implement inspection criteria and procedures pertaining to food quality and safety.<span>  </span>Provide inspection activity throughout the production cycles. </span></li><li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Coordinates quality objective goals with production in cooperation with other plant management teams to maximize product reliability and minimize cost.</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Maintain and review all quality and food safety documentation to ensure goals and objectives are met.</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Complete supervisory responsibility of the Quality and Sanitation Departments in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.<span>  </span>This includes, but is not limited to interviewing, training, scheduling, directing work, performance reviews and discipline employees and addressing employee complaints.</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Provide support and direction for employee daily activities directly or through department supervisors.</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Maintains certifications/accreditation for regulatory agencies.</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Lead and provide resource support for internal quality audits, customer quality audits and regulatory inspections. </span></li><li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Coordinate with Central QA Team for annual GSFI audit and customer audits as required by the plant management.</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Perform periodic facility inspections (Internal Audits), Traceability Exercises, and Mock Recalls as an assessment of compliance with the company’s good manufacturing practices (GMPs), Food Safety and Food Security policies.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;color: black;">Provide timely and effective communication to management, acting as a liaison, when necessary, between production, shipping, sanitation, and QA management to ensure product quality.</span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;"> </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Follow safe work practices and comply with all company, federal and state rules and regulations which apply to the job, including but not limited to, right to Know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space, blood borne pathogens, and lockout/tagout.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Oversight Requirements:</span></b></div><div><b><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;"> </span></b></div><ul style="margin-top: 0.0in;"><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field is required.</span> Candidate may substitute four (4) years of relevant Quality/Food Safety experience in lieu of degree. </li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Five (5) years of experience in Quality & Food Safety is required. Candidates substituting years of experience in lieu of degree must have a total of nine (9) years of relevant experience.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Knowledge of all CA Quality & Food Safety Regulations and Protocols is required.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Demonstrated knowledge of various analytical techniques and procedures used in the food industry.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Demonstrated knowledge of Pest Control Programs.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Ability to create reports, and analyses data/information is required.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with technical and commercial teams both internally and externally is required.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Great communication skills and ability to build and conduct training programs to the QA and operations team is required.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Must have the ability to focus on operational excellence using team building skills and clarity of purpose. </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Able to identify issues, drill down to root cause, and suggest alternate and complete solutions is required.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">Minimal travel to and from other ofi facilities will be required.</span></li></ul><div><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;"> </span></div><div style="margin-left: 0.25in;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: Calibri , sans-serif;">The pay for this role in the state of <b>CA </b>ranges from <b>$120,000 - $200,000</b> and is based on position responsibilities and geographic location.
