Position Summary
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor.
Blanching Operator ensures that the blanching equipment is set up properly, monitors the blanching process, adjusts settings as needed, and maintains cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Position Responsibilities
- Know how to operate and maintain blanchers so that the blanchers operate at maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ensure and maintain adequate levels of product in the blanching bins at all times and notify your Shift Supervisor of any changes in those levels.
- Inform the dryer operator to start drying the next lot of products at the appropriate time.
- Have a general knowledge of the total lab operation.
- Perform quality checks hourly on the product that is being processed.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, working, and used properly.
- All employees are directly responsible for Quality of OEN products. Each employee must perform their job function in accordance with the GMP rules and the Sanitation, Safety and HACCP Programs.
- Must follow safe work practices and comply with all company, federal and state rules and regulations which apply to the job, including but not limited to, Right to Know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space, bloodborne pathogens and lockout/tagout.
- Keep the Shift Supervisor fully informed of all problems with recommended solutions.
- Execute special projects and other-related activities as directed.
- Sanitation Responsibilities:
- Assist in keeping the processing room clean, neat, and organized.
- Keep the blanching room clean at all times.
- Keep all areas assigned to you on the sanitation schedule maintained.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High School or GED Equivalent
- One to three years’ experience
- This role is performed on site at a facility that regularly processes peanuts Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air.
