Position Summary
Reporting to Weigh Master/Farmer Stock Logistics Coordinator, the Regrade Laborer will perform peanut inspections which includes grading peanuts according to USDA Standards for size, damage, foreign material and quality.
 
Position Responsibilities 
  • Requires long periods of standing or sitting, working in extreme hot and cold temperatures, working in dusty conditions.
  • Monitors production operations for compliance with specifications and promptly report defects.
  • Checks moisture content of the loads, check for mold and decay
  • Operates various machines in a twelve-step process to collect precise data to grade peanuts.
  • Grades, sorts or classifies unprocessed food and other agricultural products by size, weight, color or condition.
  • Records numbers, uses different machines
  • Pulls sample from trailer, reports how much foreign material and loose-shelled kernels are in the sample
  • Records grade or identification numbers on tags or on shipping, receiving or sales sheets
  • Discards inferior or defective products or foreign matter and places acceptable products in containers for further processing.
  • Grades peanuts to ensure quality.
  • While performing these duties, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to fingers to handle / feel or pull; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. 
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Olam Peanut Shelling, even though the assignment may not have been specifically outlined previously in this job description.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required. 
  • Knowledge of computers
  • Capacity to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to effectively complete the tasks entrusted.
  • Capacity to easily adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
  • Ability to learn quickly and attention to detail.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds minimum
