Position Responsibilities

  • Maintain a secure, neat, and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the plant needs.
    1. Properly stage trailers close and neatly together. 
    2. Keep tankers off the pedestrian walkway at the front door.
  • Complete Logistics documentation accurately and in a timely manner; including daily safety inspections, daily yard truck moves, comparing container numbers, gross weight, tare weights and net weights on the scale log.  Record amount of material or items distributed.
  • Operate Yard Truck in a safe manner during roll-on/roll-off procedures involving loaded and empty containers.
    1. Keep yard truck clean inside and out.
    2. Follow safety guidelines including using light and reflective clothing and all required PPE. 
    3. Drive and operate vehicles under 15 MPH in and around plant and storage lot/staging area.
    4. Be aware that the operation is low mileage severe duty function requiring attention to preventative maintenance check and regular scheduled maintenance.
    5. Be aware operations occur on asphalt, concrete, and gravel surfaces in a hostile environment often contaminated with material subject to embedding in tires.
  • Work effectively and jointly with plant personnel, communicating operational and safety needs utilizing 2-way radio. 
  • Operate forklift in a safe manner following all safety regulations and inspections while loading and emptying containers and assisting dump operators.
  • Support Bulk Tanker Loading Operation as needed.
  • Keep Logistics Department informed of all problems.
  • All employees are directly responsible for the Quality of Olam Edible Nuts products. Each employee must perform their job function in accordance to the GMP Rules and the Sanitation, Safety and Food Safety Programs.
  • Must follow safe work practices and comply with all company, federal and state rules and regulations which apply to the job, including but not limited to, right to Know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space, blood borne pathogens, and lockout/tagout.
  • Execute special projects and other job-related activities as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Sanitation Responsibilities:

 

  • Keep the inside of the skin house clean.
  • Report to the Logistics Department when the skin house trailer needs moving and replacing.
  • Keep the cab of the truck uncluttered and free of debris.

Position Requirements

 

         Valid Class-A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in good standing is required.

         High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

         One to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

         Works independently in the absence of supervisor, ensuring all tasks are completed.

         If you possess a CDL license, then you will be expected to transfer peanuts to and from Cold Storage or local Shelling plants as instructed.  If not, this must be done by the driver of the carrier.
