Position Summary

ofi’s internship program is a great way to gain relevant experience to jump-start your career.  You will work closely with exceptional talent, building on our purpose to “Be the Change for Good Food and a Healthy Future” and contributing to critical work for the business. As a Summer 2025 Intern, you will have opportunities to learn and contribute to what’s on trend in food & beverage while building a robust network, demonstrating leadership skills, and having fun.   

The Business Development Intern will collaborate closely with the Coffee Team and gain exposure to business operations as well as project work to optimize and bring cost savings to the business through optimization of raw materials.

 

The ideal candidate should be in good standing with an accredited university and have a desire to pursue a career within the food industry. Desire to learn in a fast-paced environment while working with multiple teams across various locations and effective communication will be required for success in this internship. 

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Training with Innovation & Marketing Team: Learn about product range, process & people in the 1-2 weeks. Connect with sales/marketing teams to learn basics of process & people.
  • Lead Development: Collecting/capturing & recording leads from retail chains/café chains/food service chains for range of Cascara based products.
  • Lead Assessment & Qualification: Assess and qualify potential leads, report on a weekly basis.
  • Lead nurturing & pitch opportunities: Nurture leads, through engagement, pitch products & USPs.
  • Lead conversion: Work on pricing, quotations and convert leads to actual sales.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with sales teams, marketing, and other departments to support sales initiatives.
  • CRM Management: Managing and maintaining customer relationship management (CRM) systems to ensure data accuracy and usability.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance sales efficiency and effectiveness.

Position Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, management, sales, or a related field.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness.

Position Requirements

The pay for this role in the state of IL is $22/hour and is based on position responsibilities and geographic location.

 

Interns with permanent addresses more than 35 miles from the work location are eligible for a stipend to offset relocation and housing costs.
