Position Summary
 
Reporting to the Maintenance Manger, the Maintenance Planner will be responsible for identifying and dispensing stockroom parts, receiving and storing inbound parts orders, writing requisitions, and recording parts usage.
 
The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine inventory counts, generating orders for stockroom parts, updating maintenance work orders, organizing and maintaining storage areas and filing paperwork.
 
Position Responsibilities
 
  • Review demand and initiate purchase requisitions for materials and/or services to meet required maintenance schedules.
  • Perform inventory analytics to ensure optimal inventory levels and disposition of obsolete and defective inventory items.
  • Create work plans to meet the quality and timeliness expectations of production.
  • Execute and improve planning methodology for preventative maintenance program.
  • Receive goods physically and systematically (SAP) and record receipts against purchase orders for shipments received.
  • Purchase items at local stores with company purchasing card as requested.
  • Perform regular physical inventory counts of parts and resolve any related issues.
  • Ensure parts storage areas are organized, clean and all items labeled appropriately.
  • Regularly communicate all issues verbally or by email.
  • Follow company safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required due to working with people, items and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
 
Position Requirements
 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, management, Department Leads and multiple vendors/delivery personnel.
  • Ideal candidate will have 3 years’ experience in computerized stockroom ordering and inventory, are familiar with computerized inventory systems, and maintenance parts for manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to take direction and work in a team driven atmosphere.
  • Ability to wear all appropriate PPE.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak in English.
  • Must be able to operate or able to learn how to operate a forklift.  Must successfully complete Powered Industrial Truck Certification Training within one month after hire.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and measurement principles.
  • Must have intermediate computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel. SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Strong team player - good communication (written and verbal), follow-up skills, attention to detail and the ability to train others.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
