Position Summary
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Sheller Lead will be responsible for ensuring the proper 
operation of the shelling and cleaning equipment, the day-to-day operations and will direct
the sheller and cleaner operators during the designated shift. 

Position Responsibilities
• Work with the loader operator and warehouse operator to ensure farmers stock is 
adequately supplied to the plant.
• Work with the Maintenance Manager to ensure there is an adequate supply of sheller 
wear parts such as sheller grates, sheller bars, etc.
• Ensure the Cleaner and Sheller operators are assisting with or performing the 
following tasks.
• Ensure all machines are operating properly and adjust throughout their shift as 
needed. Hourly checks at the machinery, i.e., cleaner, gravities, electric eyes, hammer 
mill and hull house.
• Blow out intake screens and ripple deck screens hourly or as needed.
• Change shelling grates and bars as necessary.
• Monitor the meat reclaimer and adjust equipment as needed to maintain a minimum 
of meats in the hull systems
• Ensure and maintain proper speed rate at the Cleaner. 
• Responsible for pre-operational inspections and shelling equipment startup
• Work closely with maintenance personnel to assure that machinery and equipment 
are in compliance with all sanitary and Safe Food operating conditions.
• Understand ofi Peanut Shelling safety policies, work safely and report any safety 
hazards or unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager or Safety Coordinator.
• Follow ofi Peanut Shelling Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) guidelines.
• Follow all ofi Peanut Shelling Company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), 
Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned

 Position Requirements 
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to lead a team
• Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant 
experience preferred. 
• Valid Forklift driving certification preferred
• Good communication skills.
• Physical dexterity.
