Position Summary
ofi’s internship program is a great way to gain relevant experience and jump-start your career. As a Summer 2025 Intern, you will learn and contribute to a global organization, build a robust network, demonstrate leadership skills, and have some fun along the way.
The Quality & Food Safety Intern will work closely with quality and production teams on projects related to quality, food safety, and production in a food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player with a strong interest in food manufacturing.
Position Responsibilities May Include:
- Assist in conducting quality control tests and inspections on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods and/or daily operations of the production line, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met.
- Monitor and document compliance with food safety and quality standards and/or production processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Support implementing and maintaining quality management systems and/or Sanitation protocols.
- Participate in internal audits and help prepare for external audits and/or quality control checks to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist in investigating and resolving quality issues, customer complaints, and/or inventory management.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality standards are met.
- Help maintain accurate records and documentation related to quality assurance activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and safety and/or continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing production processes.
Position Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelors degree or higher program majoring in Food Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
- Strong interest in food manufacturing and production processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and quality standards is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
The pay for this role in the state of Arizona is $22/hr and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
Interns with permanent address more than 35 miles from the work location are eligible to receive a stipend to offset relocation and housing costs.
