Position Summary   

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic is to support the production department from a mechanical standpoint. This position will assist in the maintenance, trouble shooting, installation and repair of machinery and equipment. While adhering to and supporting the company’s goals and objectives on a consistent basis.     
Position Responsibilities
•    Performs repairs, tuning of equipment and project work as assigned and directed.
•    Performs preventative maintenance on equipment. (Highest priority for second shift) 
•    Fabricates parts as needed and if within scope of experience.
•    Maintains a clean shop area and organized parts cabinets.
•    Works with outside vendors who are onsite during special projects.
•    Assists line leads with adjustments and repairs.
•    Supplies line leads with parts as requested. 
•    Assists in diagnosing malfunctions in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
•    Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480v, 3 phase, DC controls, read and interpret electrical drawings.
•    Provide training and have experience in use of PLC's, VFD's, and HMIs is a plus.
•    Assembly, fabrication, and installation activities to ensure equipment and systems conform to engineering design and internal specifications and standards.
•    Maintenance repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machine, equipment, and resources.
•    Recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions or to improve safety, quality, or equipment operating parameters.
•    Enforces OSHA and company safety regulations.
•    Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
•    Procedures to meet production schedules.
•    Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
•    Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
•    Coordinate activities of individual departments.
•    Ensure compliance with all company policies, plant rules and regulations.
•    Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
•    Knowledge of use of multi meter volt or Amp meter     
   
Additional Responsibilities:      
  
•    Works in a safe manner by following all GMP’s and safety guidelines.
•    Inspect equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
•    May be required to work in tight and confined spaces.
•    Reports to management any unsafe conditions as well as safety violations by others.
•    Makes improvement ideas known.
•    Helps other maintenance personnel as required.
•    Reports when a temporary fix has been made.

Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities:   

•    Takes all food safety considerations into account when working on or around production equipment.
•    Accounts for all parts once work has been completed.
•    Accounts for all tools once work has been completed.
•    Follows all GMP and food safety guidelines.     
   
Position Requirements    
    
•    3-5 years of previous experience in maintenance as an Electrician or Mechanic working with electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment in a manufacturing facility preferred in a food processing environment. 
•    Experience reading technical drawings and schematics. 
•    Knowledge and practical applications experience in electrical/electronics, PLCs, A/C and D/C motors, drives and controls. 
•    Knowledge of the National Electrical Code 
•    Preferred electrical experience 2-5 years commercial or industrial electrical experience.     
  
The pay for this role in the state of CA is $32.50/hr and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
