 Position Summary

 Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Inspector will be responsible for inspecting product for defects by identifying all foreign materials and product quality issues. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment.

 The ideal candidate will assure no foreign material from the field makes it into the finish product.

 Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all defects and foreign materials are identified, and good product is not being discarded.
  • In the event that foreign materials are identified and the product is determined to be “contaminated” it is the responsibility of the inspector to stop the line and immediately inform the Line Operator or Lead. The inspectors will receive direction by the Lead or Line Operator to clear the contaminated product and sanitize the affected area.
  • During the assigned floor rotation, the inspector is required to clean the belts, rollers, run-offs and shoveling waste off the floors in all processing areas.
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment are in their designated areas during and at the end of each shift.
  • Report any safety or equipment issues to your Line operator or Lead.
  • This position is not limited to those duties in the job description. Duties and responsibilities can be changed, expanded, reduced, or deleted to meet the business needs of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 Position Requirements

  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Extensive walking and standing for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to work with various temperature extremes from hot to cold.
  • Use ladders when required in work assignments.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs.
  • Ability to use a shovel/squeegee/broom for sanitation purposes.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to work in a wet, fast paced, and noisy production line environment.
  • Ability to take direction from the department leads and work in a team driven atmosphere.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and department Leads.
  • Understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety regulations.
  • Ability to wear and use all assigned personal protective equipment (hard hat, gloves, eye protection, ear plugs and steel toe footwear/nonslip, etc.).
