Position Summary
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring that inventory is accurate and up-to-date, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. They are responsible for analyzing inventory data to identify trends and patterns and making recommendations for improving inventory control processes. The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in, ensuring accurate inventory counts, minimizing inventory loss, and optimizing inventory control processes.  
 
Position Responsibilities
  • Timely perform regular inventory counts to ensure that inventory levels are accurate and that there are no discrepancies.
  • Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies, determining the root cause of the discrepancies, make recommendations to resolve and taking corrective action.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and patterns and  make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Identify high risk issues regarding product quality, safety, and security and recommend solutions in collaboration with leaders
  • Ensure product on various racking and locations are positioned safely and orderly
  • Maintaining and updating inventory prioritization in accordance with business operating model 
  • Develop and make recommendations on  inventory control procedures to ensure that inventory levels are optimized and that inventory counts are accurate.
  • Participate in updating inventory control processes and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, goods received, and goods shipped, and ensure that inventory counts are accurate.
  • Coach other team members  on inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Conduct traceability audits in order to support and ensure a timely  recall procedure is executed
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance to include timeliness
  • Maintain the company's commitment to providing quality products and services with an emphasis on integrity, accuracy  and inventory controls   
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable safety, quality, regulatory and environmental regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
 
 
 
Position Requirements
 
  • High School Diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate + one (1) year of inventory, production, department coordinator experience.
  • Ability to obtain a valid forklift certification within 30 days’ of hire
  • Skilled in developing productive, collaborative working relationships across departments and with customers  
  • Strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting, and executing simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at intermediate level; MS Outlook at an intermediate level
  • Skilled in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems in a timely manner. 
  • Able to travel if necessary
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines related to inventory management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to quickly resolve issues and communicate to team members effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
  • Ability to frequently lift up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Ability to operate a forklift and/or lift truck in safe and efficient manner required
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, overtime and weekends as required 
The pay for this role in the state of CA is $20.60 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
