Position Summary
Reporting to Production Supervisor/Plant Manager/Quality & Food Safety Manager, the Quality Assurance Inspector/Sorter Operator will assume responsibility for testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates data to determine quality and reliability of products.
Position Responsibilities
- Obtain and grade samples as required and report directly to the Quality & Food Safety Manager, Plant Manager or Production Supervisor. Record samples and production data.
- Operate and maintain the sorters so that the machine operates at maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
- Insure and maintain adequate levels of product in the sorter bins. Instruct the Shift Supervisor if those levels become insufficient.
- Complete all production paperwork in a consistent and accurate manner.
- Periodically check to see that the picking table is running at a maximum level to achieve quality finished product.
- All employees are directly responsible for the quality of OEN products. Each employee must perform their job function in accordance with the GMP Rules, Sanitation, Safety and HACCP programs.
- Keep the Quality & Food Safety Manager, Plant Manager and Production Supervisor informed of problems and recommend solutions for these problems.
- Must follow safe work practices and comply with all company, federal and state rules and regulations which apply to job, including but not limited to Right to know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space bloodborne pathogens and lockout/tagout.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, working, and used properly.
- Execute special projects and other job-related activities as directed.
- Sanitation Responsibilities:
- Always keep the Sorters, lab, orderly and clean.
- Keep an awareness of cleanliness in areas of related departments.
- Keep all areas assigned to you on the sanitation schedule maintained.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
- 1-3 to three years related experience and/or training.
