Description
Position Summary
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Yard Driver will be primarily responsible for completing all daily task as assigned in a safe and timely manner and ensuring the sanitation of the hull house and other various areas of the plant are up to standards. This position will work closely with management to communicate hull types needed for customers.
Position Responsibilities
• Perform daily check of truck, ensure proper functionality
• Follow all safety policies and guidelines
• Check all paperwork for accuracy
• Transfer peanuts from the scale house to the warehouses
• Staging trailers for customer shipments
• Sanitation of hull line and receiving area, which includes general housekeeping, emptying trash, blowing down walls, keeping the equipment and walkway clean from dust and debris.
• Log all incoming trucks, including in-coming farmer stock and outgoing hulls.
• Keep up with bin capacities and the location of the incoming farmer stock
• Backup coverage for multiple roles inside the plant during breaks and vacations
• Understand ofi Peanut Shelling safety policies, work safely and report any safety hazards or unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager or Safety Coordinator.
• Follow ofi Peanut Shelling Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) guidelines.
• Follow all ofi Peanut Shelling Company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to have a flexible schedule
• Good communication skills.
• 1-year minimum experience operating a semi-truck
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Physical dexterity.
• General understanding of production and plant processes
• Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)
