Description
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the finishing operator will complete the peanut shelling process by placing the finished or sized peanuts into the proper bins.
Position Responsibilities:
• Monitor sorting, picking room and pack out bin levels.
• Maintain cleanliness of the assigned work area to meet the requirements on the sanitation schedule.
• Notify the supervisor of any issues that pose a risk to food safety, such as oil leaks, metal filings, etc.
• Monitor the operation of the Finishing Gravity to ensure proper separation of foreign material and prevent excessive rejects.
• Coordinate with the sorting and picking room operators and notify the supervisor when there is a need to stop the finishing peanut flow for full bins, equipment issues, screen cleaning, etc.
• Observe the equipment for mechanical/electrical issues, build-up on screens, blockages, loose screens or any other conditions that may affect the quality of the product or lead to downtime.
• Assist the supervisor in trouble shooting sizing issues and change out screens when needed.
• Understand ofi Peanut Shelling safety policies, work safely and report any safety hazards or unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager or Safety Coordinator.
• Follow ofi Peanut Shelling Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) guidelines.
• Follow all ofi Peanut Shelling Company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Physical dexterity.
• Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)
