Position Summary

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Packaged Products Relief will be responsible for relieving all machine operators, lab technicians, forklift drivers, and batch cooks for their required lunch and rest periods. The individual in this position will also be expected to participate in, model and enforce continuous improvement initiatives and company policies.

Position Responsibilities

•         Relieving production staff during their required lunch and rest periods.

•         Effective communication with subordinates, peers and Supervisor. 

•         Scheduling rest and lunch breaks for staff in effective coordination with production demands.

•         Assisting in the manufacturing of products to meet daily production goals.

•         Assisting with the enforcement of Good Manufacturing and Food Safety Practices throughout the operation.

•         Ensuring all production requirements are met according to the customers specifications (product quality, coding, packaging and warehousing).

•         Assisting with the warehousing operations for raw and finished goods for daily production.

•         Active participation and enforcement of the “Centerline” program or any other continuous improvement initiatives.

•         General department organization, cleanliness and storage.

•         Machine / line set-up and changeovers.

•         General maintenance and repair of all production equipment.

•         Assist with operational training.

•         Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Two-year college degree in related fields preferred.
• 2+ years experience in food manufacturing as a machine operator. 5+ years in tomato processing operations preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Quality policies and procedural methods.
• Working knowledge of Employee Health & Safety Practices.
• Basic operational knowledge and troubleshooting ability of all production equipment.
• Demonstrated proficiency on 77% of all production areas (Relief 2 status) preferred.
• Forklift certified.

The pay for this role in the state of CA is $24.77/hr and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
