Position Summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Seasonal Process Operator will be responsible for controlling the daily production flow to meet production quotas as communicated by management. The Seasonal Process Operator is expected to act in a proactive manner to ensure smooth and effective operations and report issues to management immediately.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently, read and interpret safety, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals. Ideal candidate must be willing to walk and stand up to 10 hours per day, frequently push, pull, and lift up-to 55 pounds. Must be dependable, a team player and have good communication skills and wear PPE specific to position.
Position Responsibilities
- Operating, controlling and adjusting onion wash, ensuring the smooth and efficiently running.
- Conduct inspections, tests and audits to identify and resolve any issues or abnormalities.
- Maintain accurate records of production output and related metrics, such as downtime and waste.
- Monitor and adjust process parameters as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing training and coaching to existing staff.
- Responsible for recording and maintaining production records like temperatures, water level and pounds weighed.
- Operate dryer(s) to maximum efficiency, checking all zones to ensure proper drying, good quality and good product color while maintaining effective operations.
- Constantly monitor onion wash and dryers for failures and malfunctions.
- Report any issues and discrepancies to supervisor.
- Ensure production process follows Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP’s).
- Ability to identify and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Inspires and motivates others; effectively influences actions and opinions of others.
- Constantly looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred
- 6 months to one year experience in a food manufacturing facility
- Frequently stand, walk, climb or balance
- Push, pull, lift up to 55 pounds occasionally
- Knowledge of quality standards and sanitation procedures

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles, occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; moderate cold; moderate heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
