Position Summary
Reporting to the Sanitation Lead, the seasonal sanitation technician will be responsible for daily and weekly sanitation tasks and activities within the department. The sanitation technician should act proactively to ensure smooth and effective operations and report issues to leadership immediately.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently, read and interpret safety instructions and procedure manuals. Ideal candidate must be willing to walk and stand up to 10 hours per day, occasionally push, pull, and lift up-to 50 pounds. Must be dependable, a team player and have good communication skills and wear PPE specific to position.
Position Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize processing/packaging equipment, floors, walls, ceiling and work areas.
- Handling and preparing cleaning chemicals, sanitizers and chemical concentrations.
- Disassemble, sanitize and reassemble food processing equipment
- Dispose of waste inside and outside plant
- Sweep, squeegee and mop floors
- Shovel waste into bins and keep receiving area clean
- Operate a forklift to empty bins and garbages
- Follow all safety rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred
- 1-3 months experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred
- Frequently stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of quality standards and sanitation procedures

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles, occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; moderate cold; moderate heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
