Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr, VP NA -Soluble Coffee & Coffee Extracts, the Sales Sr. Manager will be a key player in driving business growth through effective trading strategies and relationship management. The Sales Sr. Manager will leverage his expertise in the soluble coffee industry or related food industry to facilitate successful B2B transactions and contribute to the overall success of our business in the USA market.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in business development, key account management & history of successful customer acquisition & volume growth in the soluble coffee or coffee extracts industry. They should have strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, be comfortable with data mining and numbers with a focus on results. The ideal candidate should be outgoing and a strong communicator. They should be able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and leadership. The successful candidate should have a creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.
Position Responsibilities
- Create, develop and execute account strategies, plans, and forecasts for assigned accounts and customers within the overall scope of soluble coffee strategy within North America (NA). Develop and implement strategies for acquiring new projects within the account and increase market share.
- Develop long-term partnerships with targeted accounts that result in increased sales and margins.
- Establish working relationship with strategic account's middle and senior management that have decision making influence.
- Execute channel sales strategy to assure strategic alignment with the business' overarching strategic plan.
- Negotiate and finalize trading agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms for both parties. Work with technical, operations and quality personnel to assure alignment of sales strategy and product offerings with technical and operational capabilities.
- Manage complete ownership of the entire supply chain aspects to key accounts.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify trading opportunities and potential risks. Ferret out market and customer information/insights for devising winning sales strategies and forecast trends and patterns.
- Engage the ofi network (e.g., cross-functional team members/critical functional resources) to execute business plans, resolve issues, and deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer needs and drive profitable growth.
- Plan and present reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members, stakeholders, and for possible use in future case studies or company training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. Preferred majors in Business, Management, Marketing, Economics or related studies.
- Seven (7) years of previous sales, business development and/or brand management experience in coffee sales and distribution in North America is required. Soluble coffee and coffee extract experience strongly preferred.
- Experience leveraging market and industry knowledge to effectively manage relationships with customers and internal stakeholders is required
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
- Strong negotiation and presentations skills are required.
- Strong self-initiative with an ability to operate at a high level with minimum supervision is required.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
- Ability to work occasional weekends and evening when participating in company trade or vendor shows, or customer related events is required.
- State issued driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time is required.
