Position Summary
Reporting to the Quality Supervisor the Food Safety Technician will be responsible for Sampling and testing all finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications.
The ideal candidate will be involved in all aspects of product sampling, testing, data entry, test results verification, usage decisions and document retention.
Position Responsibilities
- Sterile collection of finished product samples for microbiological and R&D testing.
- Preparation of composite micro samples for testing and samples.
- Label, package and prepare paperwork for shipping of samples.
- Perform Scales Calibration and complete documentation.
- Conduct HACCP Checks for Metal Detector, Magnets, and Rescreeners and accurately complete documentation.
- Perform Agtron Checks for in process finished product.
- Will work under the direction of the QA Manager and QA Work Leader.
- Other duties deemed necessary by the QA Manager and/or the QA Work Leader.Record keeping.
- Data entry from test results in the computer.
- Will work directly under the QA Work Leader.
- Other duties deemed necessary by the QA Manager or the QA Lead Person.
- Wear and use all assigned personal protective equipment and wear appropriate work shoes (gloves, eye protection, ear plugs and steel toe footwear/nonslip).
- This position is not limited to those duties in the job description. Duties and responsibilities can be changed, expanded, reduced, or deleted to meet the business needs of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs. consistently throughout a shift.
- Capable of safely maneuvering drum that weigh up to 250 lbs.
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and department Leads.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a dusty, fast paced and noisy production environment.
- Able to ascend and descend stairs.
- Ability to take direction from the department leads and work in a team driven atmosphere.
