Position Summary
 
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Operator will operate the designated piece of equipment once all training requirements have been met.  The ideal candidate will be a motivated, self-starter who is capable of learning and following all processes as well as safety policies and GMPs.
 
 
Position Responsibilities
  • Cooker.-
  • Look at the specification for the code running,
  • Check and make sure on the proper water level,
  • Check and make sure the right temperature is set,
  • Check and verify the timing for this code,
  • At the beginning of the shift or run, check for the temperature inside the can according to specification, (usually 110 degrees)
  • Then every 30 minutes, must check IT, after the cooker, and aftercooler,
  • All this info has to be in the proper document or QC records,
  • If any discrepancies on any of the above-mentioned readings, escalate to the Lead or Supervisor, 
  • Cooler.-
  • Check for any stoppages in the can track or conveyor belt, and repair them if possible, if not escalate to the Lead or Supervisor, 
  • Make sure the water flow has a coverage of at least 95% in the cooler,
  • Make sure the two air cooler fans are on at all times,
  • If any discrepancies on any of the above-mentioned stages, fix or escalate to lead or Supervisor,    
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of products and processes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Must demonstrate a basic understanding of machine operation and process under direct supervision. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
 
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read or write in either English or Spanish. Bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.       
  • Frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and taste or smell.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
