Position Summary

 

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating shipments internally and externally, corresponding with customers, and tracking shipments. The Logistics Coordinator will be highly organized, detail oriented, and capable of multi-tasking.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Deliver superior customer service, with a focus on accuracy and timely responses.
  • Create orders and coordinate releases & shipments with internal shipping departments as well as external, 3rd party warehouse locations.
  • Coordinate shipments to correspond to customer contracts (quantity and time frame).
    • Create sales orders and outbound deliveries for next day shipments.
  • Maintain an understanding of customer specifications and requirements.
  • Develop an understanding of governmental requirements regarding the inspection and testing of peanuts and be able to use this knowledge in matching documentation to available inventory for customer orders.
    • Enter production in SAP
    • Print lab and match certificate to lot paperwork
    • Save all documents in traffic folder
  • Understand and maintain a working knowledge of the domestic and export transportation modes and processes.  Ensure that proper documentation is available and provided for each shipment.
  • Process shipment documentation accurately and efficiently to allow for timely invoicing.
    • Process current day outbound deliveries, post, scan and save in customer folder
  • Track shipment and provide updates to multiple stakeholders as needed.
    • Maintain shipment spreadsheet in traffic folder.
  • Coordinate inventory movement and warehouse space utilization as cost-efficient as possible.
  • Handle and coordinate customer claims, returns, etc.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with all key stakeholders in the supply chain (plant shelling operations, quality & food safety, customer logistics coordinators, internal warehousing and shipping, 3rd party warehouses, etc.).

          Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School diploma required
  • One – two (1 – 2) years’ experience in Customer Service, freight and/or logistics
  • Familiarity with the peanuts or food industry preferred
  • Ability to multitask, attention to details and excellent communication skills required
  • Strong understanding and ability with computer systems and applications including Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
