Position Summary
Reporting to the Financial Controller of Olde Thompson (division of ofi Spices), the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager (FP&A) will be responsible for assisting in the analysis of weekly, monthly, and annual financial performance, and preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting for the Finance team. They will support manufacturing locations in Oxnard, CA and Bayonne, NJ. They will be responsible for coordination and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must have great attention to detail and must be able to critically analyze large data sets and organizational metrics to assess financial and operational performance. They must be able to prioritize and complete multiple projects on strict deadlines and be able to operate independently at times without need for significant or frequent oversight.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist with oversight of variance analysis, customer and product profitability, group level profit and loss, spending, and key performance indicator dashboards.
- Aid in management of revenue forecasts, budget and cost pools, resource (labor, material, other costs) plans as well as bid proposals, and compliance.
- Responsible for assisting in the month-end financial close process and generating associated month-end reports, analysis, and presentations.
- Engage in annual budget and monthly forecasts, including required actions to achieve financial goals; create templates and processes necessary to facilitate gathering of budget inputs from multiple sources; gather inputs and develop appropriate revenue, and cost assumptions, along with key operation metrics that can be tracked and measured.
- Work closely with sales team leaders and operational leaders to provide financial insights that inform and drive business performance.
- Assist the CFO with internal reviews including internal weekly, monthly, and annual reviews with Key Stakeholders.
- Analyze working capital by providing perpetual inventory, monitoring cycle and/or physical inventories, and reporting of variances to senior leadership.
- Perform sales analysis and reconciliation, margin analysis and customer pull rates.
- Propose process improvements for increased efficiencies within financial reporting.
- Assist CFO in reporting of financial results to ofi’s corporate finance team.
- Review ad hoc analysis and perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required.
- Six to Seven (6 – 7) years of finance/accounting experience is required. Three (3) years of experience with Masters’ degree or CPA preferred.
- Big 4 public accounting experience (audit/assurance or consulting) preferred.
- Must possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (SAP, BI, Excel4Apps and other integrated reporting solutions.
- Excellent teamwork, relationship building, and coordinative skills is required.
- Must be able to work with diverse team across various geographies/time zones.
- Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, presentation, and listening is required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is required.
The pay for this role in the state of CA ranges from $116,000 - $151,000 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
