Position Summary 
Reporting to the Harvest Supervisor, the General Farm Laborer will be responsible for ensuring the optimum quality of raw materials by identifying and removing defects, low-grade products, and foreign materials at a steady pace while on a moving harvesting equipment and following all safety guidelines. The position requires travel to different field locations: Imperial Valley, Blythe, Kingman AZ, Bakersfield, Fresno County, and Merced County.
Position Responsibilities
  • Identify and remove raw material defects at a steady pace while on a moving harvesting equipment
  • Identify and remove low-grade product at a steady pace while on a moving harvesting equipment
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Communicate adverse quality conditions with the Bulker Operator and Harvest Supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements 
  • Ability to follow directions and an eagerness to learn
  • Must be able to work independently as well as with the team
  • Able to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and comply with all safety policies and requirements.
  • Heavy travel demands with long workdays and ability to work a flexible schedule.

The pay for this role in the state of CA is $16.00/hr and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
Note: This is a seasonal position that requires the General Farm Laborer to start their job in the Imperial Valley from May-August and finish the season in the Central Valley from August-October. In addition, this job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
