Position Summary  
 
Reporting to the Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Lead will provide direct hands-on line leadership by guiding and monitoring daily sanitation tasks, assignments, and practices of sanitation personnel during third shift ensuring the proper performance of regulatory food safety and quality standards. 
 
The ideal candidate will have excellent safe food principles with experience in a food manufacturing environment and possess bi-lingual communication, basic food safety testing and read / write English abilities. 
 
Position Responsibilities 
  • Complete weekly sanitation schedules.
  • Ensures daily efficient startup readiness of sanitation staff members.
  • Communicate any changes to schedule adherence or task completion outcomes as needed.
  • Assist in performance of master sanitation tasking weekly, monthly and quarterly.
  • Work effectively as a lead team contributor on all assignments.
  • Support sanitation staff in proper equipment disassembly and reassembly.
  • Participate in proper equipment setup and configuration to ensure lines are fully startup ready for efficient and effective production.
  • Monitor and communicate supply needs to ensure sanitation staff is equipped to follow sanitary practices according to procedure and regulations.
  • Monitor sanitation staff in accordance with GMP guidelines, Operating Procedures (SOPs), SQF and HACCP.
  • Support Line leads and Production/Packaging Supervisors in sanitation compliance.
  • Lead key assignments and trainings to ensure continued growth and progress of sanitation practices and personnel objectives.
  • Complete datasheets in Red Zone including sanitation records, allergen records, and related inspections, verifying and documenting sanitation effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in collecting ATP and Allergen protein swabs required. Determine areas to swab and report results in electronic files and/or verbally as needed.
  • Ensure proper hygiene and sanitary practices by all sanitation staff employees (glove changes, proper location of tools used and cleaning.).
  • Enforce safety guidelines to ensure compliance and communicate safety repairs as needed.
  • Interact professionally with employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Perform other assignments, duties, and special projects as assigned by the QA Supervisor or QA Manager.
Position Requirements 
  • High School Diploma required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1 (One) year food manufacturing/sanitation experience required. 
  • Must be able to facilitate a team.
  • Must demonstrate basic computer skills within the range of Microsoft suite of business software.
  • Understand, provide, and follow basic English verbal and written communication and direction.
  • Must possess basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency by experience, training and/or education in quality principles.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to all food safety standards.
  • Must be able to safely complete assignments.
  • Ability to work well with others.
 
The non-exempt hourly pay for this role in the State of California ranges from $23.00 - $30.00 per hour and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.  Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
