Description
Position Summary
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Yard Lead will be responsible for interacting with the members of the yard and plant team, Farmer Stock group and external customers such as truck drivers.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist with trucking and movement of farmer’s stock on the yard as needed.
- Coordinate hull movement to various customers.
- Maintain and clean all Farmers Stock warehouses on site.
- Assist with warehouse inspections for insects
- Collaborates with the Plant Manager and Farmer Stock team members to carry out the harvest segregation plan to ensure adequate supply of peanuts for the plant.
- Maintains load out equipment (Belts, Loaders, and Elevators for the location)
- Assist Plant Management with ground upkeep (yard leveling, brush mowing and spraying).
- Inspect warehouses for damage and coordinate repairs with the maintenance team.
- Follows all Olam Peanut Shelling Company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in similar field; Familiarity with peanuts or food industry is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- Ability to multitask and pay close attention to details is required.
