Position Summary

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Material Handler will frequently stand, lift between 25 to 50 pounds, clean, palletize, and label drums. The material handler will need to be able to work in wet, dusty, noisy, and hot environments. Will need to be available to rotate and able to work all shifts, weekends and overtime as needed depending on production needs. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
  • Ability to identify foreign material on production line.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a safe, healthy work environment by following all safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and regulations per the Company's IIPP, GMP's, job safety practices    and other related programs. 
  • Ability to comply with PPE: bump cap, safety glasses, face shield, boots, rubber boots, gloves, etc. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned per job responsibilities.

Position Requirements

  • Entry level position no specific qualifications or education required.
  • Any Production or Manufacturing experiences is a plus.
  • Work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Work and rotate all shifts
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Work and rotate all work areas in specific department.
  • Must have good attendance and work record (Existing Employees)

Essential Job Functions:  

  • Dehydration
  • Be able to maintain Onion Basket levels to not cause a gap in Production Dryer
  • Be able to use a caliper tool to measure and document slice thickness.
  • Onion Milling
  • Be able to roll, fill, and dump production drums ranging in weight from 125 lbs. to 300 lbs.
  • Be able to build and breakdown production totes.
  • Parsley
  • Be able to build and breakdown Boxes and Totes
  • Blending and Toasting
  • Be able to roll, fill, and dump production drums ranging in weight from 125 lbs. to 300 lbs.

The pay for this role in the state of CA is $16.91/hr. and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
